The African Languages Conference, a flagship event dedicated to language and cultural preservation, is organized by African Languages Conference Inc., a registered non-profit organization. Returning for its fourth edition during the African Languages Week from February 21 to 28, 2025, this year’s theme, “Harnessing African Languages for Digital Transformation and Social Justice,” emphasizes the vital role of African languages in shaping technology, equity, and cultural identity across the continent.

AFLC 2025 offers an extensive program featuring sessions on language preservation, technology, translation, interpreting, localization, and education. Participants will benefit from engaging with a distinguished lineup of speakers and thought leaders from Africa and beyond, who will share their insights on addressing challenges and unlocking opportunities for African languages..

For the first time, AFLC 2025 will be a hybrid event. The in-person gathering on February 21, 2025, at the Department of Linguistics and Communication Studies, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, is organized in partnership with the university. The entire conference will also be live-streamed on Zoom, ensuring global accessibility and inclusivity.
